Price started his campaign in emphatic style with a 10-3 win over Stephen Bunting. The manner of performance wouldn’t have pleased price, and the tactics of Bunting certainly didn’t, however the experience Price will know it’s all about he result.
Joe Cullen knows a win tonight will match his best ever run in Blackpool, getting to the Quarter Final which he last done back in 2018.
Rockstar opened up his Matchplay campaign with a win over Mike de Decker
The return of form for Gary Anderson continued on the opening night with a convincing win over Dave Chisnall.
It doesn’t get any easier for the Flying Scotsman when he opens up on Tuesday night against multiple TV major winner Daryl Gurney.
Daryl Gurney started his journey with a tight win over Rob Cross 12-10 and he will be looking to repeat the win he got over Gary Anderson last year in Blackpool.
We only have four unseeded players who made it through and we are guaranteed one with Anderson and Gurney both unseeded coming into this week.
Nathan Aspinall and Danny Noppert, both former UK Open Champions, came through tough first round battles and will face each other in an intriguing last 16 tie.
The evening is ended with two 2023 premier league participants going head to head, with the 2023 World Champion Michael Smith facing the 2023 Masters Champion Chris Dobey
