2024 Nordic Darts Masters Draw and Schedule Confirmed
Peter Wright will defend his Mr Vegas Nordic Darts Masters title against Sweden’s Johan Engstrom on Friday, while World Champion Luke Humphries will face promising Danish prodigy Benjamin Drue Reus in Copenhagen.
Following events in Bahrain, Den Bosch, and New York, the World Series of Darts will continue at Forum Copenhagen on June 7-8, with a 16-player field competing for the £20,000 top prize in the Danish capital.
In Friday’s first round, eight PDC superstars will compete against eight Nordic and Baltic representatives for a spot in Saturday’s finals, with Wright one of two past champions in action.
The draw, held at Oche The Strand in London on Tuesday evening as part of a promotional event organised by sponsors Mr Vegas, matches two-time World Champion Wright against Swedish sensation Engstrom, as the Scot seeks to become the first player to retain the Nordic Darts Masters title.
Humphries, the world number one, will also take centre stage on Friday’s opening night when he faces Drue Reus, a rematch of the pair’s fifth round encounter at the UK Open in March, when he takes on Denmark’s new PDC Tour Card Holder.
Top seed Gerwyn Price, the runner-up in Copenhagen in 2023, begins his campaign against Latvia’s Madars Razma, the top-ranked Nordic and Baltic representative competing this weekend.
Rob Cross, the newly minted US Darts Masters champion, will face Jeffrey de Graaf, who won three Nordic and Baltic ProTour titles in 2024.Fourth seed Michael Smith faces Finland’s Paavo Myller in the quarterfinals, while World Matchplay winner Nathan Aspinall takes on Myller’s fellow countryman Marko Kantele.
Dimitri Van den Bergh, winner of the Nordic Darts Masters in 2022, faces former Swedish strongman Dennis Nilsson, while Masters champion Stephen Bunting returns to the World Series against Daniel Larsson.
