Beau Greaves booked her debut at the PDC World Championship

Beau Greaves booked her debut at the PDC World Championship

Greaves, the WDF Ladies Champion, will make her PDC World Darts Championship debut at Alexandra Palace in December after accomplishing a remarkable comeback in the PDC Women’s Series order of merit. Greaves has only played in only eight PDC Women’s Series events this season winning seven of them so far with the eighth still in play.

Greaves missed the first 12 tournaments and decided to make a comeback during the final block in Hildesheim, where she swept the field that lacked Fallon Sherrock, who was on World Series of Darts duty in Australia and New Zealand.

Sherrock’s decision to take this invite has been heavily debated since Greaves went on to dominate the field in Germany by winning all four events.  Heading into the final events this weekend Greaves had narrowed the gap to Sherrock in second place to striking distance. A sensational final win in Event 19 against ‘The Queen of the Palace’ with a 107 average saw Greaves leapfrog Sherrock into second place.

As a result, the equation for the 18-year-old sensation was simple: equal or better Sherrock’s run and the place at Ally Pally was hers, with Mikuru Suzuki defeating the Milton Keynes star 4-2 with a 93 average. Greaves is still eyeing up her eighth PDC title in a row this evening.

Lisa Ashton tops the PDC Women’s Series order of merit who had already booked her place at the World Championships, but now we know it will be Beau Greaves who joins the Lancashire Rose in December.
