Huybrechts passed fit as pairings confirmed for 2024 World Cup of Darts

All 40 nations competing in the 2024 BetVictor World Cup of Darts have announced their pairings, ahead of the annual global darts tournament later this month.

England, the top seeds and four-time champions, will be represented by World Champion Luke Humphries, who is making his World Cup debut, and World Number Three Michael Smith.

Welsh duo Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton will be the second seeds when they return to defend their championship for the second time in 2023.

Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert will represent four-time winners and third-seeded Netherlands, while Peter Wright and Gary Anderson will represent two-time champions and fourth seed Scotland.

Damon Heta and Simon Whitlock will continue the friendship that helped Australia win the title in 2022, while former runners-up Belgium, the Republic of Ireland, and Austria are also ranked 5-16.

With all pairings determined, the Group Stage draw will be made on Wednesday, June 19.

The well implemented redesigned structure from last year will return in 2024, with group and knockout stages for all Doubles matches spread across four days of activity.

The top four nations, based on the lowest cumulative PDC Order of Merit rating of the two competing players, will be seeded and advance to the second round.

The remaining 36 teams will be divided into 12 groups of three for the round-robin first round, including 12 seeded nations, with the group winner advancing.

The second round, featuring the last 16 nations, will be split into two sessions on Saturday, June 29, before the quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon, and the tournament will conclude with the semi-finals and final on Sunday evening, with the eventual champions earning a total of £80,000 in prize money.
