Lewis to take a break from the professional circuit
Adrian Lewis, a two-time World Champion, announced on Twitter on Saturday afternoon that he would be taking an indefinite break from darts. This was his explanation for his recent absence from competitions.
Lewis last competed during a Players Championship weekend in mid-March, losing to Mervyn King and Cameron Crabtree in the first round before dropping two European Tour Qualification matches.
Additionally, “Jackpot” withdrew from several ProTour weekends and European Tours he had signed up for this season and stated in a statement that he needed a break from the professional circuit for the time being.
“Dear all, in particular my fans, I feel that your loyalty deserves an explanation for my absence from tournaments. After 20+ years I feel I need a break from the professional circuit for now. Massive thanks for the support from my fans & sponsors,” he said.
We wish Ade well over his break from the sport and that he can work out and find himself again. We hope he will be back sooner rather than later.
