Luke Littler Shines On Debut While Wright dumped out On Day Six of 2024 Paddy Power World Championship

Evening session of Day six lived up to expectations, with the seed falling and sensational ton plus averages and that followed a drama filled day six afternoon session.

Luke Littler Defeats Kist on World Championship Debut

Luke Littler returned to the Alexandra Palace stage, following his JDC World Championship victory on Sunday, with a 3-0 win over Christian Kist.

No nerves from Luke Littler in the opening set with a 14, 15, and 12 dart legs from The Nuke to average 110 to take the opener.

The second set Luke Littler continued to impress winning legs with a 13, 14 and 11 dart legs. Kist performance stuck around the 100 average mark and did win the third leg of the set to make sure it wasn’t another whitewash set for Littler.

The Nuke continued his fine form in set three winning the final set 3-1, and finished the game with a 106.12 average including seven 180s in eleven legs.

Williams Sends Wright Packing

Back to back breaks, before back to back holds left Wright with the advantage in set one, and with him leaving 40 he expected to come to the board, however Jim Williams had different ideas and 124 checkout for his second bull finish saw him take the opener.

Jim Williams defeats an under par Peter Wright

Peter Wright changed darts at the beginning of set two, before quickly switching back after a poor opener in set two. He won the next two legs before missing six set darts. Williams punished and stepped it up in the decider to lead two-nil.

The Snakebite dip continued in the final set and Williams eased to a 3-0 victory in the final set and the fourth seed departs before Christmas.

Relentless Joyce Unstoppable

Ryan Joyce continued his fine form with ton plus average victory over Alex Spellman, defeating The American 3-1.

Alex Spellman started the game the stronger winning the first three legs averaging 98, needing only more than five visits once in the opening three legs.

Spellman continued in fine form, however Ryan Joyce found a new gear and fired into a 2-0, before Spellman fought back to take us to a decider. Joyce fired in a 12 dart leg to level the game up.

Joyce started Set three with a 100 checkout and his double 16 was too much for Spellman who could only win one leg in set three. That was the last leg he would win with Relentless living up to his name and finished the game with a 110.32 average

Elsewhere on day six of 2024 Paddy Power World Championship Richard Veenstra eased to victory over Ben Robb defeating him 3-0. The game was full of quality with six ton plus checkouts shared between them.
