Main and Smith-Neale learn their fates.

The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) have released statements outlining the outcomes of the cases against Jack Main and Adam Smith-Neale.

Jack Main Appeal Rejected

Having been found guilty by the Disciplinary Committee in February of fixing the outcome of his June 2023 match with Lisa Ashton at the Modus Super Series, Jack Main had appealed the decision.

The appeal was heard by an independent Arbitrator, who ruled in the Disciplinary Committee’s favour. The appeal was dismissed and the decision upheld. Main remains suspended from attending or competing in DRA governed events until 31st December 2025 and was ordered to pay £762.41 in costs.

Additionally, he was ordered to pay £800 towards the cost of his appeal.

Adam Smith-Neale Banned For 8 Months

Smith-Neale’s case, relating to the 9th March 2024 incident in which he punched an opponent having lost a match in the Nuneaton Darts Open.

The incident occurred as his opponent reached out to shake Smith-Neale’s hand.

At the hearing with the DRA Disciplinary Committee, while accepting the charges against him of assault and threatening behaviour, Smith-Neale claimed he felt threatened by his opponent. This was not fully accepted by the committee.

The committee ruled in writing to ban Adam Smith-Neale from playing or being involved in any capacity in any DRA sanctioned events for a period of 8 months. This ban is backdated to start from 12th March 2024, this being the date of his initial suspension by the DRA. This means that Smith-Neale is unable to play or participate in any events until 12th November 2024.
