Matt Edgar returns to competitive WDF action in Belgium
Matt Edgar will return to competitive darts action this weekend as Prime Time heads to Belgium for a doubleheader of silver events.
We haven’t seen Edgar on the oche since his run to the semi-finals of week 12 Series 3 at the MODUS Super Series in April.
The week before his run in the Super Series Edgar won his first WDF Ranking tile in Iceland when Prime Time won the Iceland Masters. Getting the better of Björn Lejon in the final 5-3.
This weekend Edgar will compete in two silver events, The Antwerp Open and The Belgium Open.
Edgar has suffered with injuries over the last 5 years, this was one of the main reasons he lost his PDC tour card. But after a lot of rehab, it looks as if Prime Time is about to enter the race for Lakeside.
Looking at the rest of 2023 Edgar has not given up hope of making it to Lakeside in December, although the main focus remains the 2024 Lakeside.
“There’s still an outside chance I could get into lakeside this year. The long-term goal is next year but if I can hit the ground running I know I’ve got the ability to pick up points fast.”
If Edgar is to make Lakeside this year he will need to pick up a good tally of points this weekend. Can Prime Time make Lakeside this year?
