After Peter Wright attempted to give Michael Smith “s***,” Smith fiercely declared that he was motivated to win the World Cup.

After winning the trophy in Frankfurt on Sunday night alongside Luke Humphries, the England star thoroughly roasted his Scotland adversary.

The 33-year-old Smith disclosed that Snakebite had attempted to undermine him before their semifinal match by implying that world No. 1 Humphries was carrying him.

A confident Peter Wright declared that he and Gary Anderson were “gonna smash up England!” prior to the England vs. Scotland semi-final.

Unfortunately for the Scots, that wasn’t quite how it worked out, as Smith and Humphries advanced to the final by defeating the Austrian teams of Rowby-John Rodriguez and Mensur Suljovic with great ease.

“We won the quarters and Peter Wright walked past asking Luke how his shoulders were. The guy just averaged 78 and he’s trying to give me s***.

“I was like ‘what are you doing’. He was trying to give it a bit of banter behind stage. Peter you are not good enough mate.”

“He annoyed me today and I think that kind of spurred me on in that semi-final. I’ve never given it that large ever. I needed to get that out because it really annoyed me.

Luke Humphries also made a sneaky jab at Simon Whitlock of Australia for speculating that England might not have a good team.

He said: “A lot of other teams weren’t worried about us and said we wouldn’t gel. Fortunately we did. We proved that.
