PDC Autumn Series 5 to watch

All darting eyes now switch to Niedernhausen, Germany which will play host to the PDC Autumn Series. Here is our PDC Autumn Series 5 to watch.

Five consecutive Players Championships will take place between the 12th-16th September with places for the Grand Slam of Darts also up for grabs.

Gary Anderson is the only notable absentee from a strong field who have travelled to Germany to compete. Online Darts has a look at it’s ‘five to watch’.

Jose De Sousa
The Portuguese born Spaniard is a dangerous player and already has a pro tour win under his belt, tasting success last year in Dublin. In the recent Summer Series, De Sousa went all the way to a final where he was denied victory by Michael van Gerwen. But he also chalked up two last 16 appearances so will go into next week with confidence.

Stephen Bunting
‘The Bullet’ has all the natural ability in the world and is certainly due a deep run in a pro tour event. His performances this year haven’t always received the results they deserve, but Bunting has a fresh spring in his step these days and has put in plenty of hard work over the summer in preparation.

Krzysztof Ratajski
Ratajski will have his tail up after the announcement that he will replace Gary Anderson in Austria for the World Series of Darts Finals. ‘The Polish Eagle’ has an excellent floor record and has already recorded a pro tour win this year in Wigan. He will be looking to follow on from his Summer Series success in which he reached both a semi-final and quarter-final.

Devon Petersen
In his last run out at the Summer Series, Petersen went all the way to the semi-final where he lost out to a last-leg decider against Gerwyn Price. The Spartan was in magnificent form when he reached the same stage in Wigan earlier this year losing out to the eventual winner, Peter Wright. It won’t be long before the South African wins a pro tour event and it could very well be next week in Germany.

Gabriel Clemens
Finally, we have picked Gabriel Clemens, an extraordinarily talented and now accomplished player who will feel comfortable playing in his native country. The German Giant only gained his tour card in 2018 and has already soared to number 36 in the PDC order of merit. Definitely worth a cheeky pound of anyone’s money on a home win.
