PDC confirm 2022 World Series lineup

James Wade and Michael Smith have been confirmed as PDC representatives for the six global World Series of Darts events in 2022, with James Wade and Michael Smith due to compete across the world this year.

Wade, a ten-time TV champion, and Smith, a two-time World Championship runner-up, join Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen, and Fallon Sherrock as constants on the World Series circuit this year.

Wade has helped to popularise the sport around the world, having competed in the World Series of Darts from its start in 2013 and winning the World Series of Darts Finals in 2018.

Smith has also competed on the World Series of Darts since 2017, winning his first senior television title in the Shanghai Darts Masters four years ago.

Gary Anderson, a two-time World Champion, and Jonny Clayton, a Premier League champion, have been chosen to compete in the US Darts Masters, the year’s first World Series tournament, to be held at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden.

Former World Matchplay champion Dimitri Van den Bergh and Anderson will compete in the Nordic Darts Masters in Copenhagen, while Van den Bergh and Clayton will compete in the Dutch Darts Masters in Amsterdam.

Two more PDC players will be announced for the PalmerBet Queensland Darts Masters, PalmerBet New South Wales Darts Masters, and PalmerBet New Zealand Darts Masters events in Australia

The August treble-header will include Australian stars Damon Heta, Simon Whitlock, and Gordon Mathers, with qualification events held in Australia and New Zealand to round out the field of regional representatives in Townsville, Wollongong, and Hamilton

In the first round of each international event, eight PDC stars will compete against eight regional representatives.

The remaining eight players in each event compete for the title on the second day of action.

Following the six global events, Amsterdam will host the Jack’s World Series of Darts Finals from September 16-18, as the 24-player tournament takes place at AFAS Live.
