Clayton to miss World Series Double-Header
Jonny Clayton has withdrawn from the upcoming PalmerBet NSW Darts Masters and NZ Darts Masters competitions.
The Welsh star was scheduled to defend the title he won at the NSW Darts Masters on August 11 and 12, and he was also scheduled to travel back to Hamilton for the NZ Darts Masters the next weekend.
The World Matchplay runner-up has taken the decision to withdraw from the World Series doubleheader due to family reasons. He explained during the Matchplay that his father was unwell.
With Australia’s Damon Heta switching to PDC Representative status in the draws, Clayton will be replaced in each tournament by the top-ranked non-qualified player from the relevant PDC Affiliate Tour Order of Merit.
In Wollongong, Harley Kemp will represent DartPlayers Australia in addition to Warren Parry, who will be representing DartPlayers New Zealand in the NZ Darts Masters.
