Littler makes Euro Tour 1 as qualifiers for first two events decided

17-year-old sensation Luke Littler will take part in his first Euro Tour event in Belgium next month, as the qualifiers for the first two tournaments of the Tour were decided in Wigan.

The Nuke, who won his first Pro Tour event on debut earlier this week, came through the qualifier for the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze, but ultimately failed to make the field for the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich.

The qualifying events, which only now give 10 tour card holders a spot rather than 24 in previous years, saw four players book spots in both Euro Tour tournaments.

Littler headlines qualifiers for Euro Tour 1

Euro Tour events are a great help for players trying to qualify for the World Matchplay or World Grand Prix, as they offer £30,000 to the winner.

Starting on £0 in the Pro Tour Order of Merit this week, The Nuke knew that qualifying for these events are vital if he is to make his Winter Gardens debut in July.

He beat Radek Sganazki, Mervyn King and Maik Kuivenhoven to book one of the ten spots available to tour card holders, meaning he will take part in Belgium Darts Open scheduled for 8-10 March 2024.

Four players double up in Euro Tour 2 qualifier

While it was not to be double delight for Littler, four players did manage to get a spot in both tournaments.

The number one seed for the events Mike De Decker beat Martijn Dragt 6-2, while Lukas Wenig defeated Jim Williams by the same scoreline. Williams himself had knocked The Nuke out of the qualifying event 6-5 earlier in the day.

Jermaine Wattimena won a last leg decider against Rowby-John Rodriguez, as did Richard Veenstra in his game with Martin Lukeman.

Joining those four players in the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich, scheduled for 30 March – 01 April, will be:

The rest of the field for both events are made up of:

• The top 16 in the PDC Order of Merit
• The top 16 in the Pro Tour Order of Merit

• One spot from the Nordic & Baltic Qualifier
• One spot from the East Europe Qualifier
