Gary Anderson on his future “I think I’m going to get caught out very shortly”

Gary Anderson on his future “I think I’m going to get caught out very shortly” the Flying Scotsman, believes that his lack of effort is going to catch him out very shortly.

Anderson finished bottom of the Premier League table and with his hectic work life outside of darts, Anderson is looking at the prospect of dropping out of the world’s top 16 at the end of the year.

The Scotsman is defending both a World and Matchplay final this year on his rankings, and the form of two years ago seems a long way away right now.

I think I’m going to get caught out very shortly. But the way I look at it, over the last five years I haven’t done a European Tour but I’ve still managed to stay in the top 10.”

“I know it’s not happening as I’m not putting the work in. It’s as simple as that, I was constantly playing darts. I was either doing exhibitions or a tournament, you think you should be able to still do it but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.”

“Very first time in New York so I’ve spent a couple of days walking about, a few boat trips and that seeing a few of the sights, it’s been good,”

“Unfortunately Vegas wins hands down. No matter what but we’ve been to Vegas a few time so it’s nice to try new cities, first time in New York has been an eye opener.”

“When you mention the place, now you think of Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, all the great boxers, all the great fights that have taken place here. Not worried about the darts but the boxing, Tommy (Gilmour, Anderson’s manager) has had a lot of boxers across here and he says this is where a boxing match should be held.”

“Unfortunately back in Vegas when I won it, I was actually playing alright. My darts are absolutely shocking just now but I’m just going to persevere, sometimes there is a sign of it, I just need to double my work schedule but as we know, it’s very hard for me now and can’t do two things at once.”
