Final Day

Last night the number two and three seeds departed the tournament. Gerwyn Price was beaten by the man of the moment Devon Petersen. The South African star is playing the darts of his career right now and will take some beating today.

Ian White lost to German number one Max Hopp, and White was less than impressed with the German crowd last night during their match as he took to social media after the game.

Looking ahead to the action today world number one Michael van Gerwen kicks off the afternoon, as re renews his old rivalry with Merv King. The pair have traded worlds before, so this could be a great start to the day.

Mensur Suljovic looks to be returning some form, but he will have his hand full with James Wade. The machine coming through Nico Kurz last night, while Suljovic beat Jeff Smith. This one should be a close affair.

Peter Wright produced some of his best last night in beating world number 4, Michael Smith. The world champion will take some beating here on the final day if that form continues. Jonny Clayton booked his place in the World Grand Prix with a victory over Chris Dobey. The Ferret will need to raise his game again against Peter Wright.

Dave Chisnall against Nathan Aspinall will be explosive; both played well yesterday afternoon with some trademark power scoring. This one should be no different with a truckload of 180s from both.

Danny Noppert has been one of the best players so far in the German Darts Championships and will be looking to add Max Hopp’s name to his list. Hopp wasn’t brilliant against Ian White, so would make Noppert the favourite in this one.

Daryl Gurney against Glen Durrant is an intriguing game. Superchin has been going about his business in the right way and playing some great stuff again. Duzza will be Duzza hard to beat. This one has final leg written all over it.

After knocking out Gezzy last night, Petersen will feel he can beat anyone, but Rob Cross looks as if he’s turned a corner with his game. Petersen still the favourite for this one but will be a close game.

Krzysztof Ratajski v Joe Cullen is the final game of the afternoon. Ratajski is on the verge of the top 10, while Cullen wasn’t at his best last night will need to be here. Ratajski will go off the big favourite in the final game.
