Gerwyn Price has been unimpressed with everyone in this year’s World Grand Prix “I don’t think anyone has played fantastic”

The Iceman was in good form again on Friday night, winning 3-0 over Martin Schindler to advance to the World Grand Prix semi-finals.

Price has advanced to the semi-finals without dropping a set, despite losing only one leg throughout the encounter. However, not all of the pre-tournament favourites have had it so easy, as Price is the only past World Grand Prix winner still competing.

“I felt a little bit more comfortable in that game than the previous two,” said ‘the Iceman’ in a post-match press conference. “Doubles went a little bit better than what they have over the last two games so yeah, if I can put that together, with a bit more scoring in between I’ll be alright.”

“Everybody else is chasing something they haven’t got, they haven’t had. I want to win it for the second time but yeah, doesn’t really make a difference now,” he explains. “With this format doesn’t matter if you’re playing Michael van Gerwen or number 128 in the world. If you don’t start, or you struggle a little bit at the beginning of legs then yeah, you’re in trouble.”

“I’m defending the Grand Slam so this would ease a little bit of pressure there ranking points and money wise. If I could pick this trophy up then it’s another trophy in the cabinet with a little bit of pressure eased.”
