Keegan Brown Claims First Title in 7 Years

Keegan Brown claims first title since 2015 after a fantastic final against Nathan Aspinall.

Brown ends trophy drought

Keegan Brown beat Nathan Aspinall 8-7 to end a long spell without a title. Brown was far better than Aspinall in the final, but Nathan kept battling away to stay within 2 legs. Aspinall nailed a brilliant 170 to level at 6-6 but Brown kept his composure to see the match out against throw.

The Needle beat de Sousa, Webster, Peters, Baggish and Dobey to reach the semi-finals. There he played the world champion Peter Wright, and impressively beat Snakebite 7-4 with a 102 average.

The win today is huge for Keegan, as it moves him into the top 64 and is a big step towards keeping his tour card. It is a welcome boost for Brown who has prioritised working for the NHS over the past 2 years.

Aspinall makes another final

Aspinall becoming the form horse

Nathan Aspinall won 13 games in a row before being halted by Keegan Brown today. After his win yesterday, Aspinall is arguably the most in form man in darts right now.

The Asp showcased his fighting spirit once more, coming back from 4-0 down against Andrew Gilding and 5-1 down against Ted Evetts in his semi-final.

Jack Main hits a 9 darter v Rob Cross

Nine-Darter Heroes

Only one 9 darter today, and it came only two legs into the proceedings. Jack Main pinned perfection in his first round tie against Rob Cross, but unfortunately for him he lost the game 6-4.
