On Wednesday night, Luke Humphries will compete for his first world championship. In the World Darts Championship semifinals, the 28-year-old Englishman defeated Scott Williams 6-0 while playing at the peak of his abilities.

Humphries, who averaged over 108 in a demolition, gave Williams no chance.

 

“It feels really special and it’s something that I never really dreamed would happen so early on in my career. I still feel new to the game,”

“To be in that world final is a massive feeling for me. I’ve worked incredibly hard over the last couple of years to put myself in these positions so to go on and do it after the way to tournament started for me, I’m really pleased.”

“I think that’s probably some of the best form I’ve ever played on the stage,” he continues. “I needed to put in a statement performance because Luke Littler was fantastic and if I put in an edgy performance everyone would have probably thought it was a one-sided final.”

A new champion is assured as Humphries and Littler play in their first-ever World Darts Championship final.”It’s absolutely amazing that one of us is going to get that achievement of being a world champion. Unfortunately, both of us can’t so it’s a massive spectacle and I feel like both of us are going to be really excited and you might have some nervy edgy bits in there, but one of us is going to be really overjoyed tomorrow and I just hope it’s me.”

Humphries though, is not surprised that the 16-year-old Littler reached the final. “I don’t think there’s any nerves coming from him,” Humphries says. “For one of us, our lives are going to change forever. There’s a lot on the line.”
