World Seniors Darts Championship – Finals Day Review

We started with 24 and by tonight we will know our first World Seniors Darts Champion.

In the afternoon session we will see two eagerly anticipated Semi Finals, before the winners meet in the final. As announced last night to the delight of the fans coming to Circus Tavern, the Final will be best of nine.

Painter v Thornton

First up on Sunday Afternoon see’s Phil Taylors conquer Kevin Painter play the new tournament favourite, Robert Thornton.

Kevin Painter who has been nothing short of sensational this weekend. He played on the opening night and defeated Tony O’Shea in a five set thriller before dismantling Wayne Warren on Friday night.

On Saturday night at Circus Tavern, Kevin Painter smashed pasted Phil Taylor only dropping three legs in the process and booking his place in the last four.

Kevin Painter will need to continue this form on Sunday when he plays the only player in the tournament yet to drop a set, Robert Thornton

Thornton like Painter, also played on the opening night, playing the first game of tournament when he defeated Bob Anderson 3-0.

Robert Thornton continued in fine form when he defeated Trina Gulliver and only dropped one leg in the process.

Thornton into Last four of World Senior Darts Championship

It was a slow start for Thornton on Saturday but he edged the first set with a 3-2 win before averaging over 100 for the rest of the game to make that three consecutive wins to nil.

With Thornton only dropping six legs on his route to the Semi Final and Kevin Painter inspired after defeating Phil Taylor, we are set for an outstanding game on Sunday afternoon.

Adams v Jenkins

The second Semi Final sees three time World Champion Martin Adams face Terry Jenkins, who is looking for his first TV title.

Martin Adams first played on Friday evening when he defeat Richie Howson, a local fan favourite in a five set classic. You could see from this game Wolfie meant business this weekend, when he fired five ton plus checkouts, including three 150 plus outs.

Wolfie into last four of World Seniors Darts Championship

It was a little easier for Wolfie on Saturday evening, who took advantage of a handful of missed set darts in the third and fourth set from Larry Butler to defeat the Bald Eagle 3-1.

Adams Opponent will be The Bull, Terry Jenkins. Another player from this weekend who got match practice from the Online Darts Live League, and it showed from the off easing pasting Roland Scholten 3-0 in his opening game.

Terry Jenkins is looking for his first TV title

Terry Jenkins impressive form continued when he got the better of Lancashire Rose in the last 16 with a convincing 3-1 win.

On Quarter Final night, it was John Walton for The Bull and he dismantled him with ease 3-1.

By around 4pm GMT we will know our finalist in the inaugural World Seniors Darts Championship.
