Clean Sweep For Webster On His Return Action

Clean sweep for Webster as the former world champion showed no signs of a week off as he storms to the tittle.

After a weeks break for the PDC Summer Series, the MODUS Icons of Darts Live League return to stream action with Mark Webster making it a clean sweep to top the table. Webster returned today in the second group of players. This looked the toughest group of of the two, with predicting the winner a big ask.

Webster got off to the perfect start, beating one of his main title rivals Dave Evans in the opening game of the day. Webby ran out a 5-3 winner, making sure that Evans would have an uphill battle from the start of the day.

The games would come thick and fast for Webster, and in his second match would face another former Icons champion in Ritchie Edhouse. It was a game that Webster dominated, not giving Edhouse a sniff of victory. Webby would make it two wins from two with a 5-2 win.

Two wins become three quickly, as Webster dispatched of Jon Brown 5-2 in his final game before lunch. After lunch, it was the recipe for Webster as he made it four from four beating Stephen Burton 5-3. That result left webster one win from the title and clean sweep.

Knowing what was on the line, Webster started full of confidences of man that was unbeaten so far in the day. The former world champion got on top of Jenkins early ion the match. Once Webster had daylight in the game, Jenkins never looked like being able to trouble the Webster throw. A 5-2 victory sealed Webster top spot in the table a five wins form five.

Speaking to Online Darts after Webster said

“The MODUS Live League has given me a reason to play again, pick the darts up and practice. At one time, I was ready to walk away from playing, but now I feel that I still have something to give.

“Playing against top players makes you switch on, you know you have to play well otherwise you aren’t going to get anything from these games. Not only that if you get hammered, then you have to switch your phone off, as the stick you get is like being back on tour.”
