Teenage sensation Luke Littler secures his PDC Tour Card

Teenage sensation Luke Littler secures his PDC Tour Card.

Luke Littler has won a debut at the World Darts Championship and has become the youngest player to earn a PDC Tour Card through the Development Tour.

Littler has made history by receiving the PDC Tour Card’s youngest-ever recipient at the age of 16 years, 6 months, and 28 days. He will begin competing on the tour full-time in 2024.

With two events left, the Cheshire phenomenon is now in second place on the Development Tour Order of Merit, but she will undoubtedly place in the top three.

Although Gian van Veen presently leads the rankings, Littler will still compete in the sport’s premier event in December because van Veen already has a Tour Card and is about to clinch his World Championship qualifying.

Littler, the current Junior Darts Corporation World Champion, has won four Development Tour championships this year, solidifying his status as one of the game’s most exciting up-and-coming players.

In addition to winning two Modus Super Series championships and earning £50,000 in prize money, he has also won the Development Tour, earning him a total of £16,675.

Littler, the youngest player to qualify for the UK Open earlier this year and a participant in last year’s WDF World Championship, will now travel to Ally Pally to compete in the sport’s premier event, joining Mitchell Clegg (2007), Max Hopp (2012), and Fabian Schmutzler (2021) as the only other 16-year-olds to do so.

Before the PDC World Youth Championship begins on Sunday, the 2023 Development Tour campaign concludes in Milton Keynes on Saturday.

If Nathan Rafferty doesn’t win both events on Saturday, Wessel Nijman, who is now in third place in the Order of Merit, will join Littler in securing a Tour Card and World Championship spot.
