PDC Super Series to start new season

The PDC Pro Tour season will begin on Thursday 25 February, the organisation has announced.

Four back to back Players Championship events will happen at the University of Bolton Stadium, the former home of the UK Open. The event will take place from Thursday 25 – Sunday 28 February.

Two further blocks of four events, called the PDC Super Series, will take place in March and April. A total of 12 Players Championship events will happen in this time period.

Bolton hosts top class darts once again

Similar to the Summer, Autumn and Winter Series, group blocked Players Championship events returns to the darting calendar for 2021.

The first event will help give the 128 Pro Tour players ahead of the first ranked TV title of the year, the Ladbrokes UK Open. This will be played at it’s former home at the University of Bolton Stadium, between 25-28 February.

The UK Open will take place between Friday 5 – Sunday 7 March at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes. The Pro Tour players will have a week before they’re back in action at the same venue, with the second Super Series taking place between Tuesday 16 – Friday 19 March.

The final current confirmed group of four events will take place between Saturday 24 – Tuesday 27 April. These will happen at the H+ Hotel in Neidernhausen, Germany.

All these events will count towards the 2021 Players Championships Order of Merit. The top 64 on that Order of Merit after the cut off point, either 30 events or mid November, will qualify for the Ladbrokes Players Championships Finals. Traditionally, the event takes place at Butlin’s Minehead in late November and is the last ranking tournament before the World Darts Championship at the end of the year.
