Boylesports World Grand Prix: Day Five Preview

The best of five set format continues as we see the final eight players in the competition compete for a place in the last four at World Grand Prix.

The headline game sees, Gerwyn Price takes on Dave Chisnall on Quarter Final night as the only two seeds remaining in this year’s World Grand Prix.

Price was victorious in last year’s Semi Final before going on to the lift the trophy. However, it was a different story in 2019 with Chisnall coming out on top in round one at the Citywest.

Can Clayton Keep the all Welsh Final dreams alive

Jonny Clayton will be looking to keep up the impressive form he showed last night against Jose de Sousa, to get better of the ever improving Krzysztof Ratajski.

The Polish Eagle will not be fazed by playing the current Premier League champion, after impressing all week in wins against Rob Cross & Nathan Aspinall.

Jonny Clayton will be eyeing up a run to the final to set up a dream final with his World Cup partner Gerwyn Price.

Noppert yet to drop a set heading into the Quarter Finals

Danny Noppert who is yet to drop a set, takes on Ian Diamond White on Thursday night at The Morningside Arena.

I’m not sure many people would have picked these two to meet in the last eight in Leicester this week. Ian White who became a fans favourite on Wednesday night after his comeback win, will need to improve on his best ever performance at the World Grand Prix, if he’s going to get the better of Danny Noppert.

Noppert defeated Vincent van der Voort last night to nil, to follow on from the shock win against MvG also to nil and will be coming into this game full of confidence.

Can Heavy Metal put a bullet into Bunting

The final game of the night will see Ryan Searle take on Stephen Bunting. The players last met in a classic World Championship fourth round tie last year at Ally Pally.

The Bullet edged out Heavy Metal 4-3 in that set play tie. This one is also expected to go all the way with both players showing glimpses of their best performances on stage.
