Boylesports World Grand Prix: Day Three Preview.

The current World Grand Prix returns to the stage on night three and he will take on Mervyn King in one of the best draws of round two of this year’s tournament.

Tonight we will the format increase to best of five sets and a reduction in games from eight to four, which we will see for the next three nights.

Price continues defence against King

Gerwyn Price will be looking to continue his good form when taking on Mervyn King. The two player’s last meeting was a semi final at The Masters in January which King got the better of Price in a last leg shootout.

Both players will be feeling confident coming into this game after comfortably winning their first round games on the opening evening.

The Bullet takes on The Machine in round two

Stephen Bunting put in an outstanding performance on night one and says he’s never felt more confident with a set of darts than his current set. He will need to make sure he follows on from that impressive performance on Sunday against James Wade who knows what it takes to lift this trophy.

James Wade took advantage of missed opportunities by Damon Heta on Sunday and will need to improve, if he’s going to beat the man who knocked him out of the World Championship in December 2020.

Elsewhere on Day Three

We see two players who have been making good strides in 2021, with Ryan Searle taking on this year’s UK Open runner up Luke Humphries. Ryan Searle came through a first round classic and surviving match darts in defeating Dimitri Van den Bergh. It was a lot easier for Cool Hand who came beat an out of sorts Dirk van Duijvenbode.

The final game of the evening we will see two players for the first time on a TV stage with two time runner up Dave Chisnall taking on one of six debutants this year, Ross Smith.
