Chris Mason to be World Seniors Ambassador
Following the conclusion of his 2025 BetGoodwin Seniors World Championship campaign, World Seniors Darts have announced that Chris Mason has agreed to serve as an ambassador for the organisation. Now that his playing obligations in Purfleet are over, Mason, who had already stated his intention to retire from all forms of darts after our flagship event at the Circus Tavern, will become a WSD Ambassador.
Mason bowed out of the Seniors World Championship in a game to be remembered, as he almost produced a stunning comeback against the at the time defending champion and world number one John Henderson.
Mason found himself two sets and two legs down against Henderson before sending the tie into a deciding set.
In an extensive interview with Online Darts, Mason revealed that the World Championships would be his swan song, as he is now turning his attention to a new role.
With two BDO World Championship semifinal appearances and four consecutive places at the Winmau World Masters and PDC World Matchplay, Chris has had a fantastic career in the sport. In addition, he has won numerous PDC and BDO titles. After reducing his playing career, he transitioned into broadcasting, fronting the PDC events on talkSPORT and ITV.

WSD Chairman, Jason Francis, said;
“We are really pleased that Chris has accepted an ambassadorial role with WSD”.
“Chris is very knowledgeable, and vastly experienced in the sport, and we look forward to working with him at future Seniors events as we look to grow Seniors darts more and more”.
Mason added
“I’m honoured and pleased to be able to accept this role with WSD
“I’ve watched the WSD brand and product grow since its inception, and I’m looking forward to helping continue that growth in any way that I can”.
“These are exciting times for over-45 players, and I’m pleased to be part of the WSD family”.
