The Rileys Amateur Qualifiers Return for the 2022 Cazoo UK Open
Rileys have announced that after a year away because of the COVID 19 pandemic, that the amateur qualifiers are to reurn for the PDC UK Open in 2022. This gives the grassroots side of the sport the chance to compete in the 2022 Cazoo UK Open at Butlins Minehead, March 4-6.
Between 29 January and 20 February, Rileys Sports Bars throughout the UK will host qualifying events to discover 16 amateur players who will then advance to the next round in Butlins Minehead to compete against some of darts’ biggest names.
This unique formate gives players the chance to follow in the footsteps of Callan Rydz, Fallon Sherrock and Rob Cross all of whom have previously taken part in this unique tournament.
Players will play a best of 7 legs, 501, straight start and double finish. Anybody over the age of 16 can enter. Entry costs £10 per qualifier and players are permitted to compete in more than one of the knockouts.
Due to ongoing restrictions in the UK in 2021 sadly we didn’t see any amateurs play in the UK Open last year. This announcement sees the ‘FA Cup of Darts’ return to its usual feel.
