Double Delight For Edhouse

Day four of this week’s MODUS Sports Icons of Darts Live League, and it was double delight for Ritchie Edhouse.

Edhouse was full of confidence heading into play this morning, after winning the league on Tuesday. Before a dart was thrown, the six-man league looked a tough one to win with two former world champions in Mark Webster and Scott Mitchell among the field.

Edhouse would open up his campaign against Mike Warburton in the second game of the day. It ended up being a perfect start to the day for Edhouse, beating Warburton 5-2 sealing two early points on the board.

Staying on for game number three was perfect for Edhouse, it was Keelan Kay who found himself on the wrong end of a 5-1 scoreline. Edhouse was on the move again, with four points from two games played.

Edhouse would have one more game before the lunch break against Adam Huckvale. The result was the same as in Edhouse’s last match, again running out a 5-1winner with Huckvale not having any answers.

Second game after lunch Edhouse would have the first of his games against the world champions. This was closer than his last two games, but not even Scott Mitchell could find tye darts to beat Edhouse. A 5-3 victory would put Edhouse one win away from a clean sweep and his second title of the week.

Wait For The Title

All eyes were now on match 12 of 15, as Edhouse took on Mark Webster in his last game of the day. Knowing that a win would hand him the crown, but a defeat would mean that Edhouse could be pipped to the title.

Webster started the match like a house on fire, with Edhouse unable to find the answers. Webster beat the leader 5-2, giving himself a shot to win the title. Edhouse would now have to watch the last two game, and hope Webster didn’t win both.

Webster would play the final two games of the day against Scott Mitchell and Adam Huckvale, knowing that four points would win him the title. As two world champions went head to head, it ended up being one of the games of the day. Tied at four legs each it was Mitchell who won the last leg, breaking Webster’s heart and handing Edhouse the title.
