Stuart Pyke believes this is a big year for Adrian Lewis to retain his position in the worlds top 32.
After his second round exit in the PDC World Championships to Danny Baggish, Adrian Lewis begins this year ranked 24th in the PDC Order of Merit. Pyke discusses the challenge that Lewis will face this year.
“Another poor year he’s gone, he’s out the top 32. We see with a lot of players over the years it becomes extremely difficult.”
“He’s one of the nicest people you will ever meet, he will do anything for you. If you were down to your last 10 pence, He’d give you a hundred quid and say there you go.”
“You know he’s generous, he’s kind, and he’s a lovely guy, perhaps too nice. He just hasn’t shown for me enough in his game to suggest that he can reach those levels again”
Pyke hopes that Lewis will take inspiration from these words and will want to prove a point this year.
“I’d love him to be watching this, and I’d love him to say right I’m going to prove you wrong and win a big one. So there you go I proved you’re wrong”
“But you know it’s difficult to see this for me”
