We have another eight games at the Circus Tavern today, and when play closes we will know the final eight.

On an action packed Saturday we will also see;

  • Lisa Ashton opens up her campaign against Terry Jenkins
  • John Part opens up proceedings with a tie against John Boy
  • Martin Adams to meet the winner of an afternoon game between Deller and Butler

Old rivalry resumes

The only Third Round game we currently have confirmed is the Phil Taylor meeting Kevin Painter in a Saturday night corker.

Phil Taylor come from behind yesterday to defeat Peter Manley. The performance levels will need to improve as he comes up against the very impressive Kevin Painter.

The Artist started his campaign off with a last set deciding win against Tony O’Shea before easing past Wayne Warren. If Kevin Painter can maintain that standard he will feel he can get the better of Phil Taylor on the Circus Tavern stage for the first time.

Saturday Afternoon session

John Part will open up the play on for the afternoon session when he meets John Walton.

The multiple World Champion Darth Maple will return to Circus Tavern when he will John Walton who came through a five set game against Les Wallace on Friday afternoon. The winner will return on to open up Saturday nights session playing the winner of our next game.

Four time Women’s World Champion Lisa Ashton enters in Round Two and she will meet Terry Jenkins who won nine legs out of ten to defeat Roland Scholten.

Terry Jenkins looked very comfortable back at his old stomping ground however, he will be playing against Lisa who finished second on the Women’s Order of Merit last year and competed in Grand Slam and PDC World Championship.

John Lowe’s campaign starts with Dave Prins in the penultimate game of Saturday afternoon. The Circus Tavern crowd will be fine voice when the third time World Champion enters the stage.

The reward for the winner in this game will be The Thorn. Rob Thornton looked in inspired form when he defeated Trina Gulliver 3-0 on Friday evening.

Final game of Saturday afternoon will see American Larry Butler face ‘Mr 138’ Keith Deller with the winner to take on Martin Adams on Saturday evening.
