Premier League Night Twelve Preview
Premier League Night Twelve Preview.
We have just five weeks remaining before we will know our final four for the play offs in Berlin.
Currently the gap to the top four is five points, and the return of Premier League to Dublin for the first time since 2020, could have a huge impact on the final standings as 5th faces 6th and the bottom two meet in the Quarter-Finals
Fight for a Play Off place
Joe Cullen is the closest player to gate crashing the current top four, however, he needs to get the better of The Iceman who currently is one place below him in the league table.
On his debut Premier League season The Rockstar has showed moments of brilliance by reaching the final twice, however, he will need to show signs of consistency over the last five weeks to made it a dream debut year and get into the top four.
The Rockstar’s Quarter-Final opponent has also struggled with consistency. Gerwyn Price finds himself nine points off the top four and must start making his move now if he’s going to playing in Berlin.
The bottom two also go head-to-head on Thursday and it’s Master vs Apprentice, with Michael Smith taking on Gary Anderson.
Only three wins on Thursday would really be enough to get them back in play off contention.
Top Two looking to meet in the Final once more
Jonny Clayton win in Aberdeen saw him pip runner up on the night MvG to top spot with five weeks remaining. The top two have met in the previous two weeks with a combined average of 105 across two games, and for us to see this for a third consecutive week both players will need to reach the final once more.
MvG opens up proceedings in Dublin against James Wade in what will be a fantastic atmosphere in Dublin.
Even without the prize money for top spot, MvG will be looking to add another top spot to his list, and not only will he need to get past James Wade to reach another final but the winner of Joe Cullen or Gerwyn Price who are chasing a Play Off place.
Table Topper will play in the last Quarter-Final against current World Champion.
The first two winners of Premier League nights will feel confident of getting into another Final if they can come through this games, as the winner will face one of the bottom two in the Semi-Finals, either Michael Smith or Gary Anderson.
Premier League Format
Each night will see quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final played over the best of 11 legs (first to six).
Each player will meet the other seven players twice throughout the season in a quarter-final game, plus two further nights will feature additional fixtures in the same format.
