Day three at the 2026 Paddy Power World Darts Championship saw the legendary Paul Lim add another champter to his storied career with another win on the Alexandra Palace stage as well as confident preformances from strong favourites Luke Humphries and Wessel Nijman, and debutant qualifier David Davis stunning Mario Vandenbogaerde 3-0 leaving the Belgian on the cusp of losing his tour card.

Sunday brings another double session with 8 first round matches featuring some of the PDC’s biggest names.

Here’s what to look forward to on day four of the 2026 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.

Afternoon Session (12:30 pm GMT)

Ritchie “Madhouse” Edhouse arrives at this year’s Championship as a proven major event performer, having won the 2024 European Championship. Ranked inside the top 30 in the world, Edhouse knows how to handle big-stage pressure, but has struggled to replicate the level that saw him lift the European Championship and looks to rurn round what hs been a very everage year.

Jonny Tata, by contrast, is a developing force from New Zealand looking to make his mark in his first World Championship appearance. With limited televised experience, Tata did recently play in the 2025 ANZ Premier League, a competition featuring eight of the best darts players from Australia and New Zealand. Tata won the opening night of the tournament, defeating Raymond Smith 5–3 in the final.

Second up in the afternoon session sees Dom Taylor take on Oskar Lukasiak. Both players are eyeing their first televised wins at Alexandra Palace. Dom Taylor has been grinding through the Pro Tour brings some momentum from recent tour events, while Oskar Lukasiak, a Swedish talent also making his World Championship debut will want to put a dissapointing year on your behind him. This meeting between two less familiar names could turn into a high-intensity, unpredictable clash.

Richard Veenstra is a familiar face on the PDC circuit, known for his consistency and calm under pressure. He’s qualified through his Pro Tour ranking and will be looking to control the tempo with solid scoring. In the htid game of the afternoon he meets Nitin Kumar, representing India, who has reached this stage through regional qualification and will relish the spotlight. This should be a comfortable on for the Dutchman but he will need to be careful not to be drawn in to a scrap.

The headline clash of the afternoon session is an intreguing matchup between Joe Cullen and Bradley Brooks. “The Rockstar” comes in as one of the more decorated players in this session, a major title winner and consistant top performer the PDC Pro Tour has struggled with form of late especiall on TV and will have targeted the 2026 Paddy Power World Darts Championship to reset his recent slump and regain his place among the sport’s elite.

Bradley Brooks, a former World Youth champion, continues to seek his victory at the Ally Pally; he’s shown flashes of big-stage potential, but consistency under pressure has been elusive. A confident Brooks could make this competitive.

Evening Session (7 pm GMT)

The evening session kicks off with an interesting clash involving, Lukas Wenig, one of Germany’s growing number of tour card holders. Wenig looked to be at risk of losing his card until an unexpected run to the quarter-final at the 2025 Grand Slam propelled him up the rankings and showed he can handle the TV cameras.

Wesley Plaisier brings a strong background from the Challenge Tour and multiple tournament wins ourside of the PDC. He’s no stranger to a major stage, he’s played in the World Championship before and even won the WDF World Masters earlier in his career. He’ll look to use that experience and this matc could kick the sesison off in style.

Second up, we have Belgian star Dimitri Van den Bergh taking on Scotland’s Darren Beveridge. Van den Bergh is a seasoned major contender, a former World Matchplay and UK Open Champion. The scoring power and ability to win crucial legs that carried him to glory has been missing of late. He has had a tough year missing out on many TV events and underperforming where he has qualified.

Darren Beveridge, ranked lower and newer to the big stage,  will aim to stay composed against a high-class opponent. His challenge will be to punish any lapses from Van den Bergh and based on recent form he will be given opportunities.

Number four seed, Stephen Bunting comes into the 2026 Paddy Power World Championship off strong recent form. He reached the semi-finals here last year in the previous World Championship and has also claimed several World Series and Euro Tour titles in 2025. With his experience and confidence high, he’s one of the picks to run deep into this year’s tournament.

Sebastian Bialecki, Poland’s number two, is a rising talent who has earned this spot through consistent performance on the Pro Tour circuit. Although Bunting will be favourite, Bialecki’s fearless scoring and history of causing upsets could make this tighter than expected if Bunting doesn’t get the job done early.

The final game of day four is James Hurrell vs Stowe Buntz. James Hurrell is an established PDC pro and arrives on the back of a couple of massive TV victories at the Players Championship Finals against Jonny Clayton and Luke Woodhouse. Hurrell is a threat in this round no matter who is is playing and he’ll be aiming to control scoring and capitalise on any weakness from his opponent.

Stowe Buntz from the U.S. will be seeking to use his recent CDC success to fuel his World Championship bids. A veteran of the American circuit with multiple CDC titles and a Grand Slam quarter-final under his belt, he’s capable of producing big averages but consistency at Alexandra Palace remains the biggest question.
