Northern Ireland’s Josh Rock and Dutch superstar Gian van Veen are the two debut names in the 2026 Premier League Darts lineup.

Rock, who won the World Cup of Darts for his native country alongside Daryl Gurney in 2025, as well as making two individual TV semi finals, is one of the four wildcard picks from the PDC.

Van Veen, who earned his first major TV title at the European Championship back in October, guaranteed his selection for the annual roadshow with his run to the World Darts Championship Final, as he now third in the world rankings.

They join back to back World Champion and world number one Luke Littler, and defending Premier League Darts champion Luke Humphries in the field. It’s one of the most youthful lineups in the event’s history, with those four players being 30 or under.

MvG, Price, Bunting and Clayton also in lineup

The world number four, Michael van Gerwen, is the final automatic pick for the event this year, and is included for the 14th straight year. MvG has won this event seven times previous, the last coming in 2023, when he beat Gerwyn Price in the final at The O2.

Price himself will also be back in the Premier League Darts in 2026 after gaining one of the wildcard picks, and after reaching Finals Night twice before, will be looking to make third time the charm and finally lift the prestigious title.

The other two wildcard picks see 2021 Premier League winner Jonny Clayton return to the tournament for the first time since 2023. The Ferret has always reached Finals Night in each of the three years he’s been a full participant in the event, and he will look to continue that trend in 2026.

World number seven Stephen Bunting completes the lineup for 2026, returning to the event after finishing last 12 months ago despite picking up a nightly win. He ran into ridiculous performances for the majority of the season though, so the former Lakeside champion and Masters winner will be hoping that his luck will turn this time around.

How is the Premier League Darts lineup picked and how does it work?

The line up for the 2026 Premier League Darts consists of the top four players in the main PDC Order of Merit, who are automatically given a spot.

The PDC then select four wildcard picks to make up the eight players who will travel across the UK, Ireland and Europe for 16 weeks. The tournament begins on Thursday 5 February at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, with the AFAS Dome in Antwerp, Belgium making it’s debut as a venue in the event, replacing the Westpoint Arena in Exeter.

The main Premier League season ends on Thursday 21 May at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield, with Finals Night at The O2 in London on Thursday 28 May determining the winner.

There is no change from the format that has been in place since 2022. It remains an eight-person knockout bracket every night, with each of the seven matches played as the first to six legs.

The players are guaranteed to meet each other once in the quarter-finals throughout the first seven weeks, and once in the quarter-finals in weeks 9–15, with weeks 8 and 16 being drawn based on the league standings at that point.

Players receive two points per semi final finish, three points per runner up finish, and five points per final win. Following the league phase, the top four players in the table contest the two play-off semi-finals with 1st playing 4th and 2nd playing 3rd, where the winners progress to the final.
