Luke Humphries finally saw reward for his Premier League Darts campaign, winning night 15 in Birmingham to seal his place in the Play-Offs.

The 2025 champion, who had been outside the top four for the majority of the season, backed up his two final losses in the last two weeks, with a 6-4 victory over Gerwyn Price to claim the final spot in the showcase at The O2 in two weeks time.

Despite losing the final, The Iceman also qualified for the Play-Offs, taking the third spot thanks to wins earlier in the evening.

Price qualifies as Humphries all but secures spot

The big question at the start of the night was whether Humphries could hold onto the fourth spot that he had secured two weeks ago. Cool Hand did not just hang onto it, he made sure no one else can take it from him.

Both missed a chance to take the opening leg, but Humphries eventually found double 10 for a 20 dart hold of throw. Price levelled up at the first time of asking, hitting 64 for a 17 dart hold of throw.

25 darts later, Cool Hand had a 3-1 advantage, holding in 12 before breaking on tops for a 13 darter. He then found a crucial double nine in the next leg with Price waiting on 66, as he went 4-1 up and two legs from The O2.

The Iceman then found a 130 outshot to win his first leg in four, before taking advantage of four missed darts at double from Humphries to get the game back on throw. 15 darts later the game was level once again, as he hit tops to make it 4-4.

Humphries though did not wilt, holding in 12 to make it 5-4, before finding a stunning 117 checkout to win the contest and seal his place at The O2.

Humphries began the night with a whitewash 6-0 win over Stephen Bunting, officially eliminating him from Play-Off contention.

The defending champion hit a magnificent 107.36 average and finished 6/10 on the doubles, with his opponent missing all seven chances he got.

Cool Hand then went 3-0 down to Luke Littler, but reeled off six straight legs on the spin hitting another monster average, this time 110.98, to reach the final.

Price qualified for the Premier League Darts Play-Offs thanks to two wins on the night. He first of all dug out a crucial 6-4 victory against Michael van Gerwen, hitting a 101.32 average despite the pair missing 28 darts at a double between them.

It was the same scoreline for The Iceman in his last four game against Gian van Veen, but this time Price hit 6/9 on the outer ring, a marked improvement from his first match despite averaging lower than van Veen, and hitting less 180s.

What else happened?

The loss to Price eventually ended van Veen’s hopes to qualify for the top four, despite beating Josh Rock in the opening quarter final.

Rock, who won the Euro Tour in Graz at the weekend, had no answer to The Giant for the majority of the contest, who pinged 3 180s and a 102.14 average.

Despite losing to Humphries for the first time in five weeks, Littler will still be happy with his night’s work in Birmingham.

He defeated Jonny Clayton 6-0 in the final quarter final, to seal top spot in the league phase for the third year in a row. Littler has never failed to finish top of the league whenever he has played in the Premier League Darts.

The 2026 Premier League Darts league phase concludes in Sheffield next week.
