Scotland made it to the World Cup of Darts quarterfinals with remarkable ease. Poland lost to Peter Wright and Gary Anderson 8-2 in the round of sixteen because they were simply too powerful.

Scotland entered the World Cup as the fourth seeds, old rivals England (Luke Humphries and Michael Smith) this slightly irritates the renowned Scottish pairing.

Anderson couldn’t help but liken the England darts team to the England football team, preparing them for an early exit from the tournament and not reaching the heights of all the hype.

For Anderson, this was the first match in over six weeks. “Yeah it’s been a few months,” the two time world champion admits. “These lads do it all the time and I used to but it’s different now. When you get back on that stage though. The feeling quickly comes back to you.”

Anderson and Wright both had a glint in their eye as they looked to plant the seed of doubt to the rest of the field in Frankfurt. The Scots both have two world titles to their names and are now on the hunt for a third World Cup crown for Scotland.
