Fallon Sherrock makes history as first female player to hit a nine-darter on TV
Fallon Sherrock became the first female to produce a nine-dart finish on television, adding to her legacy in darts.
The MODUS Super Series is a weekly competition that is shown on Sporty Stuff TV in the United Kingdom. Additionally, YouTube is used to stream the games.
The 29-year-old gained notoriety in 2019 after taking home two PDC World Championship victories and became the first female champion at Alexandra Palace.
She then advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts, the greatest finish by a woman in a major tournament, and advanced to the final of the Nordic Darts Masters that same year before falling to Michael Van Gerwen.
After becoming the first female to hit a perfect leg in PDC history at the Challenge Tour event in Germany in March, now she did it again in front of the cameras at the Modus Super Series on Friday to add another first to her career
Sherrock hit back-to-back maximums to leave 141, which she checked out by following a seventh consecutive 180 with a treble 19 and double 12.
That levelled up her match with Adam Lipscombe at 3-3 before she took the deciding leg to secure a 4-3 victory and book her place in the weekly final at the MODUS Super Series.
Wow, my phone hasn’t stopped pinging. Thank you for all the amazing messages. I’m absolutely buzzing to be the first female to hit a 9 dart leg on TV ❤️❤️ @MSSdarts @ModusDarts180 @lpdetecting @MarshallMotorGp @EmpireFightingC @Lstyle_Japan @DYNASTY_JAPAN
