2023 Poland Darts Masters draw & schedule
The draw and schedule for this week’s debut World Series of Darts event in Warsaw have been made public, and Krzysztof Ratajski will face former World Champion Rob Cross on the opening night of the Superbet Poland Darts Masters.
The fourth of six overseas tournaments in the PDC World Series of Darts in 2023 will take place in front of a sold-out crowd at COS Torwar in Warsaw on July 7-8.
The eight PDC stars will compete against eight East European players in the opening round on Friday. Poland’s top player, Ratajski, who has won nine PDC ranking championships, will be one of the eight East European players.
On home turf, Ratajski will take centre stage. He will open his campaign against fourth seed Cross, who advanced to two semifinals on his comeback to the World Series of Darts in 2023.
A second Polish superstar, Krzysztof Kciuk, who teamed up with Ratajski to create a Pairs average of 118.10 for Poland at last month’s World Cup of Darts, will face World Champion Michael Smith in the first matchup for the title.
Gerwyn Price, the top seed and the defending World Series of Darts Finals champion, will face TV rookie Lukasz Waclawski, who prevailed over a field of 175 competitors in the Polish qualifying last weekend.
Michael van Gerwen, the US Darts Masters champion, will begin his quest for back-to-back World Series victories against Czech amateur Adam Gawlas, a semi-finalist in the UK Open in March.
Karel Sedlacek, a fellow citizen of Gawlas’s native Czech Republic, will face Belgian number one Dimitri Van den Bergh, and Premier League player Nathan Aspinall will face Croatian trailblazer Boris Krcmar.
The winner of the Hungarian qualifying last month, Nándor Major, will take on world number six Luke Humphries, who just won his fifth European Tour championship in Trier.
A tie versus Radek Szaganski, who holds a PDC Tour Card, the fourth Polish representative, will mark Danny Noppert’s maiden World Series debut of 2023.
The quarterfinals, semifinals, and final of the Poland Darts Masters will be played in one extended session on Saturday following the opening night on Friday.
