Luke Humphries stopped the James Wade Run, while Michael van Gerwen defeated Michael Smith to set up a World Matchplay Final
Humphries Looking Unstoppable
Luke Humphries settled better of the two players and raced into a two leg lead with fine checkouts of 84 & 97, and then held onto that two leg advantage after six legs winning by four legs to two.
The Machine continued his fine 180 hitting early on and hitting four in the first nine legs, and he challenged straight back winning the next three to take the first time in the game, before Luke got one back in 20 darts to level us up at 5-5
A great start to third session with the first ton plus checkout of the game, a 101 checkout, see him take the lead until Humphries went on a rampage winning three of next four to lead 8-7 and be a break up going into the break.
Cool Hand continued the fine form and with back to back holds, and back to back breaks until James Wade punished missed dart from Luke Humphries to close the gap to four.
Luke Humphries found the biggest checkout in leg 23, this was after back to back holds and Cool Hand took huge step to the finish line with a 156 checkout to move two away.
He continued that fine form and a huge roar appeared when he got the win to open up Saturday night’s action and secure his place in his first World Matchplay Final.
MvG Returns To Blackpool Final
A slow start on the doubles from both players, but they both found a big finish in the first session, with Bully Boy going 131 before MvG responding with a 161 checkout. It was Van Gerwen who was slightly better on the outer ring and he lead 4-1.
Bully boy found an early break before an hold to close it to one, and with MvG having double trouble it was 4-4 after eight. Michael van Gerwen was a wire away from another 161, until Bully Boy found tops to lead for the first time, until MvG held to make it all square once more.

We saw a repeat of session one with Michael van Gerwen taking four of the five legs from the session but this time we saw the first four straight legs from The Green Machine before Smith got the last.
The game continued with trend of high scores and missed doubles as Smith was trying to close the gap and he got it within one but it was only a 3-2 session with for Smith before the last break and it lead to MvG being 11-9 up.
Bully Boy found his form after the break and winning three out of four levelled us up once more, and with Smith on a finish ready to take the lead MvG found a huge 136 checkout to lead 13-12.
That checkout was the start of four legs on the spin and Michael van Gerwen only lost one more leg before defeating Michael Smith and booking his place in the final.
