The 2024 Poland Darts Masters take place this weekend at the PreZero Arena Gliwice.

Following on from last week’s event in Copenhagen, where Gerwyn Price reversed the result of the US Darts Masters to beat Rob Cross 8-5 and claim his first title since the World Cup of Darts 12 months ago, the next instalment of the World Series of Darts takes place.

It’s the final stop for the World Series this month, before the last two events of the regular season in Australia and New Zealand in August.

Here’s what to expect as darts goes back to Poland after an amazing first edition last year.

Who are the PDC representatives?

Seven of the 2024 Premier League players are the eight selected to represent the PDC.

Having missed last weekend’s action in Copenhagen, both defending champion Michael van Gerwen and Luke Littler return to the World Series stage.

However, last week’s victor Price is the only one of the Premier League line up not to play in Poland. He is replaced by Masters Champion, Stephen Bunting.

This means that the eight PDC representatives are:

  • Luke Humphries
  • Michael van Gerwen
  • Michael Smith
  • Stephen Bunting
  • Nathan Aspinall
  • Rob Cross
  • Luke Littler
  • Peter Wright

Who are they playing?

As with all the World Series events, eight players local to the region will face the PDC representatives in the first round. For the Poland Darts Masters, they’ll take on players from Eastern Europe. They are:

  • Sebastian Bialecki
  • Boris Krcmar
  • Radek Szaganski
  • Jacek Krupka
  • Karel Sedlacek
  • Adam Gawlas
  • Krzysztof Ratajski
  • Gyorgy Jehirszki

What’s the draw and format for the Poland Darts Masters?

The eight PDC representatives play one of the Eastern European representatives on day one of the event. The draw is as follows:

(1) Luke Littler v Adam Gawlas

Peter Wright v Jacek Krupka

(4) Luke Humphries v Gyorgy Jehirszki

Michael Smith v Radek Szaganski

(2) Rob Cross v Sebastian Bialecki

Stephen Bunting v Krzysztof Ratajski

(3) Michael van Gerwen v Karel Sedlacek

Nathan Aspinall v Boris Krcmar

Each game is best of 11 legs.

If the Eastern European representative wins, they effectively take the place of the PDC representative in the draw.

On day two, the eight players remaining will play in quarter finals, semi finals and the final.

The quarter finals are still best of 11 legs, the semi finals are best of 13 legs, while the final is best of 15 legs.

All of this counts towards points on the World Series Order of Merit, which will help determine the eight players who qualify as seeds for the 2024 World Series of Darts Finals in September.
