2026 German Darts Grand Prix draw & schedule

The draw and schedule for this weekend’s Easter event have been confirmed, and Michael van Gerwen will start his defence of the German Darts Grand Prix championship against either Niko Springer or Jan Schmidt.

Four-time champion Van Gerwen is one of the main attractions at the fourth European Tour event of 2026, which will take place in Munich from April 4-6 and feature a huge 48 players vying for the £35,000 top prize.

German sensation Springer will be one of six players from the Host Nation competing in the first round, which will consist of 16 matches spread over two sessions on Saturday.

Format – All games up to and including the quarter-finals are the best of 11 legs, with the semi-finals the best of 13 legs and the final the best of 15 legs.

NB: Pre-qualified players who lose in their first match of the Event shall not be credited with prize money on the PDC Werner Rankings Ladder, ProTour Rankings or European Tour Rankings, however they shall still receive full prize money payment.

All the action gets underway this Friday and is not to be missed as the race for Dortmund hots up for the European Championships.

The third round will be played on Sunday afternoon after the excitement from the second round on Saturday. The competition will end with the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final in an exciting evening session.
