Rusy-Jake Rodriguez suspended after failed drug test

The Darts Regulation Authority has confirmed that Austrian star Rusty-Jake Rodriguez has been provisionally suspended following a failed drug test at the Players Championship 24, which took place on Monday, August 25, 2025.

The incident came to light after Rodriguez was subjected to a random test during the event. The results returned an adverse finding, prompting immediate action from the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA). In response, the Chairman of the DRA has issued a suspension preventing Rodriguez from competing in, or even attending, any event governed by the organisation until further notice.

This provisional suspension is standard procedure under the DRA’s disciplinary framework and will remain in place until the investigation and subsequent proceedings are completed. At that stage, a final determination on the matter will be made, which could include further sanctions depending on the outcome.
