ADC announce The Global Championship as their flagship end-of-season event.

The Amateur Darts Circuit (ADC) and the MODUS Super Series will collaborate on a new milestone event in December 2024.

The inaugural ADC Global Championship will feature 24 players competing for a portion of a prize pool of over £85,000, with the first Global Champion projected to earn more than £25,000.

The event will take place over two weeks, from Monday 9 to Sunday 22 December 2024, at the MODUS Live Lounge in Portsmouth, and will be live-streamed on the MODUS Super Series YouTube.

The event will feature the top ADC players from several ranking systems, as well as the top two players from the Women’s ADC (WADC) Tour.

The top four ADC players in the UK Ranking will be joined by the top four UK Winmau Tour players.

In addition, the top-ranked players from Southern Europe, Belgium, East Europe, the Netherlands, and the Nordic regions, as well as the Benelux Open Champion, will be awarded berths.

Additional seats will be filled through qualifying events in Oceania, South Africa, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, the North and South of the United Kingdom, and a World Seniors qualifier.

Scott Hunt, ADC Head of Global Operations, said: “This is an exciting new event for ADC players, who will get the opportunity to qualify for an end-of-year showpiece finale for amateur darts players.

“We have strong links with the MODUS Super Series and the collaboration with them for our Global Championships ensures live, top quality coverage for 24 players, who get the chance to battle it out over two weeks to reach the knockout phases.

“This is something new in darts and is a big opportunity for ADC members to showcase themselves and to earn over £25,000 in the process.”

Chris Murphy, Executive Producer, MODUS Super Series added: “This is the perfect way to bring the curtain down on a successful year for both the MODUS Super Series and the ADC.

“Both organisations pride themselves on providing opportunities for darts players outside of the exclusive 128 professional tour card holders.

“50 weeks a year, the MODUS Super Series showcases qualifiers from the ADC system – with many success stories.

“Now, for two of those weeks, these players will have their own special event and the final match of 2024 at the MODUS Live Lounge will see the first ever ADC Global Champion crowned. We are thrilled to be part of that landmark moment.”

The event will follow the MODUS Super Series format, with 12 players participating in Best of 7 Legs group games each week to advance to Saturday’s weekly Finals Night.

The four semi-finalists from each Finals Night will advance to the eight-player Grand Finals on Sunday, December 22.

The Grand Finals will have a prize pool of £55,000, with the winner receiving the £25,000 first prize in addition to the prize money earned during the qualifying weeks.

In addition, there is a £1,000 additional reward for hitting a nine-darter during the Grand Finals.

The quarterfinals will be played over the Best of 11 Legs, while the semi-finals will be Best of 13 Legs and the Grand Final will be played over the best of 17 legs.
