Dave Chisnall defeated Ricardo Pietreczko 8-6 to claim the title in the first ever Flanders Darts Trophy in PDC Euro Tour event 10.

Chizzy, claimed his second Euro Tour win of the season and an eighth of his career with wins over Pietreczko, Chris Dobey, Peter Wright, Gabriel Clemens and James Wade in the inaugural event which took place in Antwerp, Belgium.

Pietreczko, who booked his place in the final with a 7-4 semi-final victory over world number one Luke Humphries, took the opening leg and the pair exchanged holds of throw until Chisnall managed to break the German to take a 2-1 lead. The pair continued to exchange throws until Pietreczko managed to break back and tie the game up 4-4. The game remained on a knife edge until the Englishman found a stunning 148 checkout for a 12 dart break of throw in the 13th leg allowing him to throw for the match successfully and lift the title.

Chisnall game through a hard won semi-final against Chris Dobey 7-5 following a tense last leg quarter-final decider against Peter Wright 6-5. His victories in the earlier rounds were slightly more comfortable having overcome both Gabriel Clemens and James Wade 6-2.

Pietreczko, who many would have noted as an unlikely finalist produced a massive perforce in the semi-final, averaging just shy of 105 to dispatch Luke Humphries 7-4, This followed a 6-4 quarter-final victory over Dirk van Duijvenbode and impressive showings in the earlier rounds defeating Danny Noppert and Andrew Gilding.
