Cullen Stars As The Full Field Confirmed for 2025 World Series of Darts Finals

The countdown is on for one of the biggest tournaments on the PDC calendar, as the 2025 Jack’s Casino World Series of Darts Finals heads to Amsterdam next month. From September 12-14, the AFAS Live will play host to a glittering lineup of 32 players, with reigning champion Luke Littler, world number one Luke Humphries and top seed Stephen Bunting among those vying for glory.

The World Series Finals have grown into one of the sport’s most prestigious showpieces, bringing together top seeds from the year’s international circuit alongside global qualifiers and fresh talent. With the field now complete following the Tour Card Holder Qualifier in Milton Keynes, excitement is building for what promises to be three days of high drama in the Dutch capital.

Littler Returns as Defending Champion

Teenage sensation Luke Littler will defend the crown he lifted in Amsterdam last year. The 17-year-old continues to dominate headlines after a remarkable 2025 season, which has already seen him capture back-to-back World Series titles in Australia and New Zealand. Now, he returns to the AFAS Live looking to achieve consecutive World Series Finals victories – a feat that would further underline his meteoric rise in the sport.

Littler’s fearless approach and ability to deliver under pressure have made him one of the most talked-about figures in darts, and his presence ensures packed crowds and electrifying atmospheres wherever he plays.

Bunting Tops the Rankings

Leading the seedings this year is Stephen Bunting, who has enjoyed a renaissance in 2025. The “Bullet” lifted trophies in Bahrain and Copenhagen and currently sits atop the World Series Rankings. His consistent displays have elevated him to top seed status, placing him at the head of the eight seeded players who will join the second round automatically.

Among those seeded are World Champion Luke Humphries, Poland Masters winner Gerwyn Price, and Rob Cross, who tasted success at the Dutch Masters. Chris Dobey, Nathan Aspinall and Belgium’s Mike De Decker also make up the seeds, ensuring no shortage of heavyweight names in the later rounds.

Van Gerwen, Van Barneveld and Global Stars

As ever, home hopes rest strongly with Dutch darts icons Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld. Van Gerwen, a five-time World Series Finals champion, will be desperate to recapture the crown in front of his adoring fans, while Van Barneveld continues to defy the years by competing at the very highest level.

They will be joined by a host of international names who earned qualification through the World Series circuit, including Peter Wright, Jonny Clayton, Damon Heta and Krzysztof Ratajski. The field also highlights the sport’s global expansion, with Oceanic trio Simon Whitlock, Haupai Puha and Jonny Tata competing alongside American debutants Danny Lauby and Jason Brandon.

Six Qualify from Milton Keynes

The final six spots were decided at the Tour Card Holder Qualifier on August 27 in Milton Keynes, where 82 hopefuls competed for the last chance to book their tickets to Amsterdam.

Wessel Nijman was one of the standout performers, storming past Owen Bates 6-1 in his decisive tie to seal a return to the World Series Finals. The 25-year-old also claimed wins over compatriots Jitse van der Wal and Dirk van Duijvenbode earlier in the day, showing superb scoring power and averaging over a ton in the process. His qualification guarantees Dutch fans even more home representation when the action gets underway.

German star Gabriel Clemens also came through, defeating World Youth Champion Gian van Veen 6-4 to deny the young Dutchman a place on home soil. Scotland’s Cameron Menzies added his name to the lineup after producing a strong display to beat 2024 runner-up Michael Smith in a decisive clash, earning his second successive appearance in Amsterdam.

Elsewhere, Joe Cullen cruised past William O’Connor with a 6-0 whitewash, while Luke Woodhouse and Cor Dekker both secured World Series Finals debuts after seeing off Lukas Wenig and Kim Huybrechts respectively.

There was even a moment of history in Milton Keynes as Italian number one Michele Turetta fired in a nine-darter, although his perfect leg wasn’t enough to keep him in the event as he fell to Andy Boulton.

Final Lineup

The completed 32-player field now features eight seeded stars – Bunting, Littler, Humphries, Price, Cross, Dobey, Aspinall and De Decker – alongside an array of international qualifiers, seasoned champions and exciting debutants. Joining them are James Wade, Dave Chisnall, Ross Smith and Danny Noppert from the Werner Rankings Ladder, plus the six Tour Card Holder Qualifiers: Nijman, Clemens, Menzies, Cullen, Woodhouse and Dekker.

It is a field packed with pedigree and storylines – from Littler’s bid for back-to-back titles, to Bunting’s charge as top seed, and the home favourites Van Gerwen, Van Barneveld and Nijman eager to deliver for Dutch fans.

Tournament Schedule

The action begins on Friday, September 12, with the first round split across Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The second round will follow on Saturday evening, setting the stage for a dramatic Sunday finale.

Quarter-finals are scheduled for Sunday afternoon, before the semi-finals and final close out the tournament in a bumper evening session on September 14. With so many major winners and in-form players in the field, every session promises world-class darts and unmissable entertainment.
