Entries Confirmed for Players Championship 22 & 23 with the ProTour Resumes in Hildesheim
The race for ProTour glory heats up once again next week as the 2025 PDC season resumes with a Players Championship double-header in Hildesheim, Germany. Set to take place on July 29-30 at Halle 39, the two-day event will bring together 128 players from across the darts world for Players Championships 22 and 23.
With £15,000 on offer for each tournament winner, competition is expected to be fierce as the PDC Tour Card Holders and PDPA Associate Members go toe-to-toe just days after the conclusion of the prestigious Betfred World Matchplay.
Play is scheduled to begin at 12:00 BST (13:00 local time) on both days, and fans will be able to follow the action live via PDCTV and select bookmakers’ websites. Coverage will include streaming from four boards per event, with German commentary once again provided for local viewers.
Familiar Faces and Rising Stars
The player list features a strong mix of established names, in-form contenders, and emerging talents. Headlining the entries are several former major champions including James Wade, Gary Anderson, Gerwyn Price, Raymond van Barneveld, and Dimitri Van den Bergh, all of whom bring a wealth of experience and pedigree to the floor.
Following his emotionally charged victory over Gian van Veen at the World Matchplay, Wade will be one to watch in Hildesheim. The Aldershot veteran, who recently declared himself “one of the greatest players on the planet,” will look to continue his resurgence with back-to-back deep runs in Players Championship events.
Germany’s own Martin Schindler and Gabriel Clemens will have home support. At the same time, other top continental talents like Ricardo Pietreczko, Krzysztof Ratajski, and Madars Razma will be keen to make a statement as the race to the World Grand Prix intensifies.
Promising young players such as Sebastian Bialecki, Wessel Nijman, and Cam Crabtree are also in the mix, seeking to upset the order and potentially claim breakthrough victories on the ProTour stage.
Notable Absentees
While the line-up remains strong, a number of high-profile absences have raised eyebrows. Jonny Clayton, Rob Cross, Michael van Gerwen, Luke Littler, and Peter Wright — all regular contenders — will sit out the Hildesheim events.
Also missing are Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, Josh Rock, and Damon Heta, which opens the door for others to seize ranking points and capitalise on a slightly more open field.

Each day will see all 128 players compete in a best-of-11 legs knockout format. With matches spread across multiple boards, PDCTV will cover four selected boards per session, giving fans the chance to follow marquee matchups and upsets alike in real time.
German fans can once again enjoy full native commentary, while global coverage through bookmakers’ platforms ensures international viewers won’t miss a beat of the action.
