Gerwyn Price back in business to win Night 3 of 2025 Premier League Darts
Gerwyn Price produced some fantastic darts to win Night 3 of the 2025 Premier League Darts, defeating Nathan Aspinall 6-3 in the final in Dublin.
Both players tussled back and forth for the first half of the match, with the scoreline at 3-3, before reeling off three legs to produce his first Nightly win since 2023.
The Welshman averaged a steady 100.57 and displayed a 50% success rate on the outer ring.
Both Price and Aspinall proved any critics wrong by making their first finals of the 2025 Premier League campaign after being selected on the back of a difficult 2024 season.
In particular, Price showed his class by defeating the world number two and one in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. His 6-4 wins against Luke Humphries and Luke Littler reminded the darting world of his capabilities and sheer bottle-to-edge through.
The Welshman showed glimpses of turning a new leaf and appeared to have regained his love for the game. His five points earned for the nights work catapults him up to second in the table, second only to Humphries.
Aspinall scraped through against Rob Cross in his first game, averaging a below par 85.53, but he turned up the heat for the game against Dutchman Michael van Gerwen. He averaged just shy of 100 against the seven-time Premier League winner.
Chris Dobey and Stephen Bunting lost at the first hurdle, both losing out 6-4 to Humphries and Van Gerwen. The latter has yet to pick up a win in this year’s competition after the first three weeks, but that elusive win will arrive soon, considering his game hasn’t dwindled in 2024 thus far.
The former Premier League runners-up becomes the third Nightly winner of the tournament thus far, as Humphries and Littler completed the job from the previous two weeks.
Price’s confidence has increased further considering his recent Players Championship victory.
