Nordic Darts Masters next stop on the 2026 World Series of Darts 

The 2026 Mr Vegas Nordic Darts Masters gets underway on Friday, with Stephen Bunting aiming to become the first player to successfully defend the title in Copenhagen.

The World Series of Darts returns to Forum Copenhagen on June 5-6, with 16 players set to battle it out for the prestigious crown in the Danish capital.

Bunting headlines the field after producing a series of dominant performances to lift the trophy in 2025, defeating Oskar Lukasiak, Jonny Clayton, Nathan Aspinall and Rob Cross on his way to glory.

While the former Masters champion suffered back-to-back quarter-final exits in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia earlier this year, the 41-year-old is eager to return to winning ways this weekend.

“I have really great memories from last year,” said Bunting, who opens his campaign against Sweden’s Viktor Tingstrom.

“Being in the wonderful city of Copenhagen is always a pleasure. It’s such a beautiful place and to win the title there was a great honour.

“It would be fantastic if I can become the first player to retain this title. It’s not just a great event, but it’s one of the nicest trophies to win as well, so that’s a huge incentive.

“I’m not sure what to expect from Viktor. I’ll just focus on putting in a top performance and concentrate on my own game.”

World number one Luke Littler returns to action for the first time since reclaiming the BetMGM Premier League title at The O2 last Thursday.

The reigning World Champion produced a sensational display to defeat Luke Humphries in a last-leg decider, averaging 111.67 in what was the highest-quality Premier League final in history.

Littler now turns his attention to Copenhagen, where he begins his challenge against Norway’s number one Cor Dekker, as he looks to secure a second World Series title of 2026 following his triumph at the Riyadh Season Saudi Arabia Darts Masters in January.

“I can’t wait to have some downtime and then return to the oche,” said Littler.

“The Premier League was my first ever major title, so to pick it up again means the world.

“I hope the Premier League win is a turning point. It was one of those wins that I just had to get done.”

Humphries also arrives in Denmark in excellent form after pushing Littler all the way in last week’s showpiece.

The world number two averaged 105.60 in defeat, recording the second-highest losing average ever seen in a Premier League final.

“I’m proud of myself that I managed to have the chance to retain my Premier League title and give it a shot, and boy did I give it a shot,” reflected Humphries, a two-time World Series champion.

“I’m always confident, always feeling good and know there’s an opportunity to win titles.”

Humphries faces Sweden’s Jeffrey de Graaf in one of the standout ties of the opening round.

De Graaf heads to Copenhagen fresh from claiming his second PDC ranking title at Players Championship 19 in Milton Keynes on Tuesday, defeating the likes of Josh Rock, Wessel Nijman and Jonny Clayton en route to the title.

“My finishing was really good, especially at important times. That is what got me over the line,” said De Graaf.

“This is my third year now with a Tour Card. The first two years were very inconsistent, but this year I’ve been much more consistent.

“I just want to improve, and then I think the results will come in the end.”

Elsewhere, top seed Michael van Gerwen takes on De Graaf’s World Cup of Darts team-mate Oskar Lukasiak, while 2024 Nordic Darts Masters champion Gerwyn Price begins his campaign against Lithuanian number one Darius Labanauskas.

Jonny Clayton renews his rivalry with Andreas Harrysson in a rematch of their World Championship meeting from December, while James Wade returns to the World Series stage against Latvia’s Madars Razma.

European Champion Gian van Veen rounds off the first-round line-up with a clash against Danish favourite Daniel Larsson, as the Dutchman bids to add a maiden World Series title to his growing list of achievements.

Following Friday’s opening round, the tournament concludes on Saturday evening, when the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final take place during a blockbuster Finals Day session in Copenhagen.
