The PDC stars power past the Nordic Representatives as Humphries and Price set up a quarter-final clash

Luke Humphries held off a valiant fightback from Madars Razma to set up a meeting with reigning champion Gerwyn Price as the First Round of the 2025 Mr Vegas Nordic Darts Masters concluded on Friday at the Forum Copenhagen.

Humphries, the newly crowned Premier League champion, trailed early on when Razma scored a magnificent 120 checkout to put him ahead 2-0.

That seemed to drive Humphries on, and he appeared to be on his way to triumph when he strung together five straight legs to lead 4-2.

Razma, on the other hand, fought back to force a decider at 5-5, only for Humphries to seal the game and advance to the quarter-finals with a magnificent 125 checkout.

Price, who won this title 12 months ago against Rob Cross, got his title defence off to a strong start by defeating Cor Dekker 6-3.

The Welshman appeared to be on his way to a 5-0 triumph over Dekker, but his finishing fell short as Dekker responded, eventually crossing the line with an 81 checkout.

In the opening round, Price’s compatriot Jonny Clayton survived Darius Labanauskas’ missed match darts before winning 6-5 on double five.

Clayton appeared on track for victory after reeling in a 170 checkout to lead 5-4, only for Labanauskas to immediately answer with a 154 of his own to force the last leg – but he then missed two at tops in the showdown, allowing Clayton to advance.

Clayton will now face Stephen Bunting in the last eight, with Bunting defeating Oskar Lukasiak 6-3 in the night’s penultimate game. Bunting won in Bahrain earlier this year.

Nathan Aspinall secured the night’s biggest victory, defeating Benjamin Rues 6-0 and sinking a 138 checkout along the way.

Aspinall will now face Luke Littler, who overcame Viktor Tingstrom 6-3, while Cross and Chris Dobey will meet after defeating Andreas Harryson 6-4 and Jeffrey De Graaf 6-2, respectively.
