2023 Betfred World Matchplay Day Two Afternoon Preview

After a fantastic opening night in Blackpool, we return for a monster day with eight games including the reigning champion return to the Matchplay stage.

The afternoon session includes the 2007 World Matchplay champion James Wade.

Debutant Rock Takes On The Heat

A must watch first round tie between Damon Heta and Josh Rock Headlines a Sunday afternoon session.

World Cup winner Damon Heta will be looking for his first win on the Blackpool stage on his third attempt and comes into this in form being the most recent PDC winner, picking up a Pro Tour win on Tuesday.

Josh Rock makes his debut in Blackpool being the unseeded favourite after some ridiculous numbers in 2022, he will be looking to build on it this year with a lot of pressure on the young mans shoulder.

Wade Looking To Rekindle Blackpool Love

James Wade closes the afternoon session when he takes on Premier League participant Chris Dobey.

The Machine has struggled for form this year and just held on to his seeding in this years Matchplay coming in at 16th and he faces a difficult challenge against Chris Dobey.

Chris Dobey started the year in fine form by winning his place in the Premier League with a Masters win in Milton Keynes and he will be looking to add to the trophy cabinet this month

Also on Sunday afternoon, 2022 UK Open Danny Noppert will face Martin Schindler in the opening game on day two. This will be followed by an animated second game with Dirk van Duijvenbode facing Kim Chris .
