Wright Faces Gilding

The Penultimate game on Sunday evening will see the two-time World Champion Peter Wright face last year’s UK Open Andrew Gilding in round one.

It’s been a difficult year for Peter Wright after finishing bottom of the Premier League, and his best runs in any individual competition being a quarter final on a Pro Tour, he did however help Scotland get to the Semi Finals while partnered up with Gary Anderson.

Andrew Gilding has had similar fortune with Quarter Final his best for the year, and took the 15th place on the Pro Tour Order of Merit.

For Gilding he will not be happy the draw after facing Peter Wright on two previous occasions and not getting the better of the 2021 World Matchplay champion, but he will be hoping for third time lucky.
