Brilliant Bunting caps an incredible week to win his maiden European Tour title “People were writing me off, I knew I was playing well in the Premier League and I felt it was just a matter of time.”
Bunting maintained his stunning resurgence at the WT Energiesysteme Arena, establishing new ground after ending an eight-match winless streak in the Premier League on Thursday night with the Night Nine title in Berlin.
The former Masters winner averaged more than a ton in four of his five victories, winning the £30,000 top prize and rising to world number four in the process.
“I’m just so happy to get the win,” said Bunting. “I was coming in with a lot of confidence after winning in Berlin after not winning in eight in the Premier League.
“People were writing me off, I knew I was playing well in the Premier League and I felt it was just a matter of time.”

Bunting won the Premier League Darts night in Berlin earlier this week after going nine weeks without a single victory. He demonstrated remarkable commitment on the ProTour last week, indicating that the indicators were there, and he has really gotten into gear, adding European Tour glory to his collection.
Titanium faced Mr Brightside in a walk-on battle, but it was the David Guetta and Sia performance that will have Bunting fans going crazy tonight.
Aspinall was unable to win back-to-back European Tour titles and appeared to be struggling with his throwing arm throughout the tournament. He was frustrated, and while he stepped in and never gave up, it appears Bunting had the mileage that ‘The Asp’ did not today.
Aspinall missed several opportunities to break Bunting in the first leg, as the latter pinned double two for 1-0. A 100 checkout saw Bunting break throw for a 3-0 lead.
Aspinall continued to fluff his lines. However, he produced a great bull on 66 to make it 2-1. Bunting hit 72 for 3-1 and broke straight back.
Bunting fumbled his lines on 125, leaving 14, and Aspinall pinned his trusted bull for 87 to break the tie at 3-2. Aspinall continued to shake his arm and appear upset with himself, but he still managed to land a dart at 130 and pop the bull for 3-3.
Aspinall had 81 to break. He missed double 12 and double six, and Bunting had 100 to put him back ahead 4-3. Bunting missed the bull for 5-3, but rebounded for double eight and was throwing for 6-3.
